About the event

Join fellow PBKs for a fascinating guided tour of the special exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art: "Workshop of the World: Arts & Crafts in Philadelphia." The exhibition celebrates 150 years of artisanal excellence--in woodwork, metal work, ceramics, textiles, and glass--launched by the 1876 American Centennial Exposition in Fairmount Park. Inspired by the British Arts and Crafts Movement, Philadelphia area craftsmen and women gained national renown for work of the highest quality. Examples of some of our best practitioners will augment works on view in PMA's outstanding Nation of Artists exhibition and in the museum's permanent collections. Following the tour, we'll join for an optional pay-your-own lunch in the Museum Cafe.

The tour cost of $40 also covers general admission to all museum exhibitions. Please register by September 20, so the museum will know if they need to engage a second guide.
