Join fellow PBK's for a visit to the site of the Roebling steel works, where we will learn the story of John A. Roebling and his innovative engineering ideas. He is best known for designing and building wire-rope suspension bridges, the most famous of which is the Brooklyn Bridge. He and his three sons built his company into the world’s leading producer of wire rope. The $11 private tour includes an introductory film (20 minutes long) followed by an interactive tour of the museum’s galleries. Weather permitting, our private guide will take us on a walking tour of the Millyard, and of the eponymous town built to house Roebling’s employees and their families. The tour will be followed by an optional pay-your-own lunch at Palermo’s, set in the former Roebling company store. (If you bring a bike, we will organize a bike ride along the Delaware River afterward.)
