Annual Membership Meeting (Virtual)

The 2025 Annual Meeting of the Phi Beta Kappa Association of the Delaware Valley to be held virtually on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 7:00 pm, is open to all members current in their dues to hear a recap of the past year's activities and finances, give input to determine the coming year's plans, and elect all officers and Council members for the open Council seats.  The Annual Meeting agenda, the election slate, brief bios for candidates, and the link to join the virtual meeting will be e-sent 15 days in advance of the Annual Meeting to all members current with their dues.​​

"Key Connections" for recent PBK Inductees - Meet & Greet Happy Hour, followed by Team Trivia over dinner.

On Thursday, October 23, 2025, PBK inductees from 2016-2025 can enjoy great conversation and team trivia with other PBK members from the SE PA, So. Jersey, and No. Delaware region, at PBK Delaware Valley's annual Key Connections event at the Victory Brewing Company's pub restaurant on Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Center City Philadelphia.  Hosted by our PBK Delaware Valley Young Professionals co-chairs, Shea Sandifer & Carissa Petzold, the event includes a meet & greet happy hour with appetizers/drinks, followed by an hour for dinner and team trivia in small impromptu teams, with PBK logo mugs for prizes.

          We are extremely pleased to welcome as the honored guest for the evening, Frederick M. Lawrence, JD, 10th Secretary and CEO of the national PBK Society, and former President of Brandeis University. National Marian Anderson Museum - Home: Guided Tour, including current special exhibit "Marian - The Philadelphia Story"

On Saturday, November 15, 2025, look forward to a guided tour of the National Marian Anderson Museum - Home in South Philadelphia. Built in 1870, the house was purchased by Philadelphia native Marian Anderson's (1897-1993) mother in 1924, at the cusp of Ms. Anderson's international career, renowned for vocal performances especially in opera and spirituals. Conductor Arturo Toscanini said she had a voice “heard once in a hundred years.” The museum also celebrates her role as a humanitarian and civil rights activist. She received many accolades including the Presidential Medal of Freedom under President Kennedy (1963), the Congressional Gold Medal, the National Medal of Arts, 24 honorary doctorate degrees, and numerous recording prizes. “Marian: The Philadelphia Story” features special artifacts, gowns, photos, and more. Virtual Movie Club - A Real Pain

 

Virtual discussion of Jesse Eisenberg’s A Real Pain is a poignant and darkly comedic exploration of family, grief, and identity. The film follows two mismatched cousins, played by Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin, as they embark on a heritage tour through Poland in honor of their late grandmother. Their journey is both deeply personal and historically resonant, weaving humor with emotional depth. A Real Pain premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award, and later received critical acclaim, earning an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (Kieran Culkin) and a BAFTA for Best Original Screenplay (Jesse Eisenberg).
